About me

I initially trained at Telford College in Edinburgh where I gained an HNC in counselling. I then went on to train in Transactional Analysis with a psychotherapy specialty at the Physis Training, where I gained the COSCA validated diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling. After doing additional academic work I was awarded a post graduate diploma in Transactional Analysis counselling by Queen Margaret University Edinburgh.

I have worked  as a mentor at Health in Mind, a charitable organisation which aims to promote the health and well being of people who experience mental health difficulties. I was a counsellor in the Low Cost Counselling Scheme at EICP. I worked as a volunteer counsellor at Crossreach Counselling Lothian for about two years. I Also worked as a volunteer counsellor at Simpson House Counselling where I recieved specialist training to enable me to provide counselling to people who are effected by substance use.

As well as being a therapist I also worked for a number of years in further education at Edinburgh College assisting people with various types of learning impairments access further education.

I am a member of The European Association for Transactional Analysis (EATA)The United Kingdom Association for Transactional Analysis (UKATA), and The Scottish Transactional Analysis Association (STAA) as well as being a counselling member of COSCA. I have professional indemnity insurance through the Psychologists Protection Society. I also receive regular supervision from a fully qualified supervisor on a regular basis to ensure I practice in a safe and ethical manner.
